I had a fantastic stay with great value for my money. The room was modern and clean, and the location was perfect, surrounded by charming shops, with friendly staff, made us feel welcome.
The menu for breakfast could really use more variety.

The total stay was really really nice in a historic town in one of its finest buildings. Had an absolutely superb breakfast with the fish of the market which was cooked to perfection, thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

So, we went out for our anniversary, and I was really bummed when they told my husband they ran out of pork after we had already ordered. It totally killed the vibe, and he ended up with nothing. Super frustrating!

Enjoyed the ability to return to the bar and relax. The room was extensive with good facilities and the hotel was very relaxed and peaceful.
A bit dated. I have stayed here for the past 7 years and little has changed in this time.

Friendly and helpful staff
Room decor was old and tired. Appreciate it is an old building, but the carpets, curtains etc do not need to reflect this also!

The place was a great base to explore the calm waters of the Exe and the charming village nearby. We visited local shops and enjoyed outdoor activities. The atmosphere was so cute, and the rooms were comfortable. Perfect for a chilled getaway!
We had some issues with the WiFi, frustrating as it took a while to get sorted out. Would have liked better access to streaming services in the common areas.

Friendly staff. Helpful with storing our luggage. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds. A touch of country character to the buildings. An interesting bar.
Limited car parking. An evening event stretched the staff

The staff are wonderful. Extemely helpful, polite, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and the bar had great beers and a wonderful atmosphere. I have stayed there a few times before and to be honest I won't bother to look to stay anywhere else whenever I have o visit Exeter. All in all, I find it hard to believe you will find a better hotel in the area at the price.
If anything, the room was directly above the bar, and as such was a bit nosier than I would have liked, but this wasn't a major problem and wouldn't stop me from staying at the Globe again.
